Sivan Zak

Attorney

Sivan Zak, the most recent attorney to join the firm’s litigation team, graduated with honors from New York Law School in 2022.

While in law school, Sivan interned at the Children’s Law Center and Brooklyn Defender Services’ Education Law Clinic, conducting intakes, drafting impartial hearing requests and other pleadings, and advocating for students at IEP meetings and at impartial hearings. Sivan also served as a research assistant for Professor Richard Marco and Samantha Pownall, concentrating on special education related issues.

After graduating from law school, Sivan worked for the New York City Department of Education (DOE), handling a caseload of more than 100 special education matters including settlements and attendance at impartial hearings. Following the DOE, Sivan spent a year and a half representing affected families in Upstate New York.

Sivan is fluent in Hebrew and proficient in Russian. In her spare time, Sivan enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and hiking with her dog, Benji. Sivan loves the work that she does because she has a long history of working with children and aims to uphold their rights. Sivan loves connecting with families and building long lasting relationships with them.
